Support
Email support@mactidy.dev. You'll hear back from the developer, usually within one business day.
When you write, include your macOS version, your MacTidy version (MacTidy menu, About MacTidy), and what you expected to happen. For a cleanup problem, the item's path helps most.
I can't find my license key
Your license key is in your Polar customer portal. Search your inbox for the receipt from Polar (search for "MacTidy" or "Polar"); it links to the portal, where you can see the key and the Macs it's active on. If you still can't find it, email us from the address you used at checkout.
I got a new Mac
On the old Mac, open MacTidy's settings and choose Deactivate this Mac, then activate on the new one. If the old Mac is gone, deactivate it from your customer portal, or email us and we'll free the slot.
How do I give MacTidy Full Disk Access?
- Open System Settings and go to Privacy & Security, then Full Disk Access.
- Turn on MacTidy. If it isn't listed, click the add button and choose MacTidy from Applications.
- macOS asks you to quit and reopen MacTidy. The permission takes effect once it reopens.
Full Disk Access is optional. Without it, MacTidy cleans what it can see and lists the folders it couldn't read.
I removed something I needed
In MacTidy, open History, find the cleanup, and choose Undo. Everything from that cleanup goes back where it was, as long as it's still in the Trash. You can also put back a single item from the Trash in Finder with File, then Put Back. If you've already emptied the Trash, restore it from your Time Machine backup. Then email us the item's path so we can fix the rule that suggested it.
Report a rule that's wrong
If MacTidy marks something as safe that isn't, or misses junk it should catch, email us the path and the app it belongs to. Rule fixes ship to everyone without an app update.
How do I uninstall MacTidy?
- If you have a license, open MacTidy's settings and choose Deactivate this Mac, so the slot is free for another Mac.
- Quit MacTidy.
- Drag MacTidy from Applications to the Trash.
- To remove its settings and caches too, delete
~/Library/Application Support/MacTidy,~/Library/Caches/com.zeusqolivar.MacTidyand~/Library/Preferences/com.zeusqolivar.MacTidy.plist.
MacTidy doesn't install background processes or helpers.
System requirements
